When most people think of a notary, they picture someone sitting behind a desk, stamping papers. And while that’s technically true—we do a lot of stamping—there’s so much more to this job than people realize.
I became a notary six years ago, originally as a way to support my real estate business. But over time, it’s become a passion and a full-time service I’m proud to offer in my community.
Every Day is Different
One of the things I love about being a notary is the variety. In a single day, I might notarize:

An affidavit for someone appearing in court the next day
Each appointment tells a story. Sometimes it’s a celebration, like closing on a dream home. Other times it’s emotional—like helping a family member make end-of-life decisions. You learn to show up not just with your notary seal, but with empathy and professionalism too.
Trust is Everything
Being a notary means more than just verifying signatures. It means people are trusting you to protect their identity, respect their privacy, and ensure their most important documents are legally secure. That trust is sacred to me.
It’s why I stay up-to-date on state laws, carry errors & omissions insurance, and continue my training. I want every client to feel confident they’re in good hands.
Going Mobile Changed the Game
A couple of years ago, I started offering mobile notary services—and it transformed my business. Clients love the convenience of me coming to their home, office, or hospital room. I’ve signed documents in parking lots, conference rooms, and yes—even front porches.
It’s not always glamorous, but it’s always meaningful.
My Message to the Public
